Join the discussionDo the potato wedges taste good after you thaw them? Do you have to recook them in oven? And how long is a flash freeze before you bag them in freezer bag?
Hey, Amanda!
1. Yes, the potato wedges are delicious when cooked from frozen.
2. Yes, they need to be baked again.
3. You can flash freeze anywhere from 10-20 minutes, depends on how long it takes them to cool down. You can read more about flash freezing here: https://onceamonthmeals.com/support/what-is-flash-freezing/
Enjoy!
Is it better to freeze the potatoes before cooking or after?
All of our recipes have been thoroughly tested by our test cooks, so your best bet is to follow the “freeze for later” recipe instructions as written (so you will bake them, then flash freeze.)
Do i need to thaw first before re-baking?
Yes, per current food safety guidelines, we recommend thawing before re-baking.
